U.S. Judge Rejects Trump Administration Lawsuit Against Harvard Over Antisemitism Claims
A federal judge in the United States has rejected a lawsuit filed by the Trump administration against Harvard University, alleging discrimination against Jewish and Israeli students at Harvard due to antisemitic behavior exhibited in pro-Gaza demonstrations on the Harvard campus. While the Department of Justice argued that Harvard University violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, using it as an excuse to withhold $2.2 billion in federal funds, the judge, Richard Stearns, found the instances cited too isolated and individual to be classified as a pattern of violation of civil rights law.
